Don Holman (b. 1946)
Bio
Don Holman is a visual artist who lives in Traverston, West Grey, Ontario . Since the 1970’s, his work has been in over 200 solo and group exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. Holman has curated many exhibitions in Canada , has taught visual art at the University of Toronto, Scarborough College since 1974, and founded the lithography workshop of Open Studio, where he was director for 13 years. He has been a guest artist and lecturer at many national and international art schools and universities and as a master lithographer, has worked with hundreds of other artists including Otis Tamasauskas, Christine Koch , Torrie Groening and Harold Klunder. Holman’s work is in many private and public collections, including the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa , Agnes Etherington Art Center , Queen’s University, Kingston and Memorial University , Newfoundland and Labrador. Don Holman was elected to the Royal Canadian Academy of the Arts in 1978.
