James Stanford Perrott (1917-2001)
Bio
Stanford Perrott was watercolourist and art educator. He had a terrific impact on the Alberta art scene through fifty years of teaching and painting. He spent thirty seven years as an educator at the Alberta College of Art (and its predecessor within the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology). He is acknowledged to have been a master water-colourist. His work is in many collections including those of the Glenbow Museum and the Alberta Foundation of the Arts. Row Houses is an interesting piece in that it is a collage of individually painted pieces carefully assembled so that from a distance it appears to be a three dimensional painting.
